American Legion Post 11 Hosts 9/11 Memorial Services Sunday – Hi-Line Today

HAVRE (NMB) The American Legion Post 11 in Le Havre is hosting a memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 11 in conjunction with law enforcement to honor the lives lost in 2001.

American Legion postman Robert Brewer says the 9/11 commemoration is necessary to remember what happened 21 years ago.

“People tend to forget and leave that behind. It’s just our way of reminding the public that something very tragic happened that day and we must never forget it.

Brewer says this is the first time the American Legion Riders have sponsored the memorial.

On Sunday, September 11, there will be a gathering in Town Square at 9:00 a.m. with services starting at 9:11 a.m. sharp. The memorial will serve as a way to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks. Next, a motorcycle ride will head to Beaver Creek Park and then return to Le Havre.

At noon, the Elk Pavilion will serve a free lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs. Brandy Kurtz, Secretary of Elk’s Lodge, lunch is free, but there will be a collection basket for anyone who wishes to donate.
